For history buffs out there, Broadstairs is
commonly associated with Bleak House as
described by Charles Dickens in his famous
novel. Its well worth a visit on the cliff tops
above the ancient York Gate on the way to the harbour.
Old Broadstairs is also known for its History of 17th Century smuggling by
townsfolk, traditionally called " Owlers ", from which our unusual shop name has
been derived. The Owlers were so called due to their famous cupped handed
"Hoot" whenever danger was on the horizon.
When you step inside this "Aladdins cave" or "fairy grotto" of specialist giftware,
